Our lagoon here in Redwood Shores will once again be the site for Men’s and Women’s College Rowing teams in competition this Spring. These exciting sporting events offer a rare chance on the west coast to see top-ranked rowing teams power across the water. From the pedestrian overpass on Bridge Parkway or the parking lot or park on either end of the bridge, residents can catch the races and heats as they happen, free of charge.
Key events to look forward to in April & May on the Redwood Shores lagoon include the Stanford Invitational and Pac-12 Challenge events for Men’s Rowing (the Pac-12 Women’s Challenge took place earlier this year here in Redwood Shores,) and Big Row vs. Cal for both Men’s and Women’s Rowing competition.
Those who are particular fans of the Stanford and CAL Berkeley teams, we have recorded dates and times as available for these local teams’ events below. Mark the following dates on the calendar and catch these athletes racing live in Redwood Shores.
Friday &Saturday, April 3-4,

Saturday & Sunday, April 11-12: Stanford Invitational (M)

- Sunday the 12th, 9:00 AM (Stanford -M-vs San Diego)

Races begin at 9AM and will take place throughout the day.

Saturday, May 2: Big Row vs. Cal (M/W) Dates and times not yet available; races begin at 9AM and will take place throughout the day. Stanford and CAL will compete in both Men’s and Women’s racing.
