Join us for the first annual Shores-wide garage sale: Shores Summer Clean-Out! Do you have pre-loved items ready for a new home? Consider this your sign to start clutter busting, while building community and earning some cash along the way! RSCA and Donna Marie Baldwin (Compass, DRE #00560346) will be happy to host a welcome table at the Sandpiper Community Center parking lot to pass out printed maps and some treats to send everyone off for a morning of deal-making! We will also advertise the sale in local newspapers, social media and signage.
Each participating household is solely responsible for their own sale, including pricing, transactions, and any other issues that may arise. Consider teaming up with friends for a multi-household sale and extra fun!

Bring all your children and a basket for goodies to the park for the big Egg Hunt, where toddlers and young kids can seek out goodies hidden in the grass and playground.
Want to know what’s happening here in the Shores? Come out to the Redwood Shores Annual Community Meeting, hosted by RSCA, and get the latest update on “The State of the Shores”.
(*NOTE: The previous RSCA Annual Meeting was held at the Sandpiper Community Center. This year, we are returning to the Redwood Shores Library, which should alleviate any parking difficulties attendees may have had last year. Please make note of the change.)
Development plans for the Redwood Life campus continues to be be a topic of local discussion for Redwood Shores residents. The City of Redwood City and the Plan Redwood Life organization have scheduled several meetings and learning services to inform the public about the Redwood Life Precise Plan and EIR analysis.
These events are hosted by the City of Redwood City.
RSCA welcomes the one and only Santa to Redwood Shores on Sunday, December 15th!
Come greet Santa from 1-3PM at Sandpiper School.
Bring your cameras to capture magical moments of your children on Santa’s lap while sharing their requests. Mingle with your neighbors, hum along to holiday tunes, and talk with RSCA board members about current events while waiting your turn to see Santa.
Santa is a very busy man this time of year, so be sure to arrive early if you want to be sure to see him!
Each year in November, RSCA promotes safety preparedness with the Emergency Preparedness Month. You can read this month’s issue of The PILOT for a number of tips and recommendations to ready your home and your family in case of a sudden disaster.
As part of Emergency Preparedness Month, RSCA also provides all homes and businesses in Redwood Shores with a RED/GREEN Disaster Signal Card designed to help emergency responders quickly assess who needs immediate help and who is OK, in a disaster scenario, and for use in drills occasionally. This year, it was printed in the center page of The PILOT, so you can tear it out and keep it (…and hopefully never need the red side). Please keep this card where you can locate it quickly. Also keep tape nearby so that you can quickly put it where it can be seen clearly from the street. This may be in a front window or on your front or garage door depending on the layout of your particular neighborhood. If you need assistance, this card will help get the quickest response. The card should not be displayed year-round.
“Show Your Cards” Drill on November 16th!
On Saturday, November 16th, RSCA and local volunteers will be running a drill to practice home checks of card use.
Development plans for the Redwood LIFE campus have been a topic of local discussion for some time now. Those who would like to know more about the proposed plans for the Redwood Life development are invited to community-led conversation, hosted by RSCA and led by members of our own Redwood Shores community.
Neighbors and Locals Talk about Biolabs in Your Backyard:
Understanding the Redwood Life Project
Sunday, October 13 @ 12:30 PM
Redwood Shores Branch Library
Additionally, a community-led meeting will be held on the following Sunday, October 13th. This will provide a chance to follow up on topics which may have come into discussion during the tour. All residents are invited, regardless of attending the tour.
We also appreciate everybody who came out on Oct 6th (despite the incredible heat!) to attend our Neighborhood Tour & Talk event. The best way to understand the scope of this project has proven to be to visit the site first-hand. This guided trip gave attendees a detailed view of the campus as it is today, and highlighted areas where plans propose to expand or redevelop the property. We hope to host this event again, so please reach out if you are interested in a future opportunity to take this tour.
The Redwood Shores Community Association cordially invites you to join us for our annual Meet the Candidates Forum on Wednesday, October 9, from 6:30 – 7:30 PM at the Redwood Shores Library, 399 Marine Pkwy, Redwood City, CA 94065.
The Candidate Forum provides candidates for City Council, Belmont Redwood Shores School District, and Board of Supervisors an opportunity to introduce themselves to Redwood Shores voters and discuss issues of concern to the Redwood Shores community. Each candidate will spend a few minutes introducing themselves, along with their priorities and goals. Each candidate will be provided a table where they can set out information and community members can come over to speak with them one-on-one.
