Crown Castle Application for Wireless Facility

Residents of Redwood Shores may have recently received a letter from the company Crown Castle regarding an application to install a “small wireless facility” on light poles in the neighborhood. A “small wireless facility” is a low-powered, compact device used to provide wireless cellular service.

Naturally, some people may have questions or want clarification on how or if these new wireless facilities could affect their neighborhood.

The Redwood Shores Community Association has requested Crown Castle to meet and address any concerns or questions from the community. A meeting on this subject has been scheduled for the night of April 17th at the Redwood Shores Library.

April 17th, 6:30PM – 7:45PM

Santa Visits the Shores

RSCA welcomes the one and only Santa to Redwood Shores on Sunday, December 10th!

Come greet Santa from 1-3PM at the Sandpiper Multi-Use Room.

Bring your cameras to capture magical moments of your children on Santa’s lap while sharing their requests. Mingle with your neighbors, hum along to holiday tunes, and talk with RSCA board members about current events while waiting your turn to see Santa.

Don’t be late! The line to see Santa can be long, and Santa is a very busy man this time of year!

(RSCA members will have special priority and other families will be given a number based on their arrival for their place in line, and we will do our best to get everybody through to Santa but there may have to be a cut-off point where we cannot give out any more numbers to see Santa before the event closes.)

National Night Out

Come meet your neighbors and learn about the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) at this year’s National Night Out!

Stop by the Redwood Shores Library (399 Marine Parkway) to socialize with neighbors, chat about matters pertaining to Redwood Shores, meet your local law enforcement representatives, review for emergency supply options with CERT, and just have a fun Summer night out with those who live in your neighborhood. Our local Girl Scouts will also be at the event to talk about coyote awareness.

Tuesday, August 1st, 6:00–7:30 PM
Redwood Shores Branch Library

Additional events of National Night Out may be held even closer to your home than the Redwood Shores Branch Library. Be sure to check with your local homeowners association to find out if a National Night Out event is also being held in your vicinity.

(The Sandpiper Lagoon HOA has scheduled a National Night Out get-together, which is being held between Waterside Circle and Avocet Drive.)

National Night Out is an annual community-building event that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, and fosters Redwood City’s sense of community.

*Note: The meeting space is provided as a community service by the City of Redwood City. The City neither sponsors nor endorses this event nor the presenting individual or organizations.

For more information about National Night Out in Redwood City and nationally, visit the  Redwood City National Night Out link or the official National Night Out website.
