Sound Wall Demolition and Temporary Parking Changes:
Construction timing: Demolition of the sound wall on South Bayshore Boulevard (in the City of San Mateo), adjacent to U.S. 101, began the week of June 7th. The work involves removal of the wall from 2nd Avenue to Monte Diablo Avenue and will take place from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. This section of sound wall is currently scheduled to be rebuilt by January 2021.

This one-way traffic control will occur from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and will allow for crews to install a temporary sewer bypass system. During this time, northbound traffic will remain on South Bayshore Boulevard and southbound traffic will be detoured towards Dakota Avenue. This work is anticipated to be completed in early July 2020.
