Halloween Walk 2014

Thanks everybody for coming out to the 2014 Halloween Walk. We’ll see you again next year!

Bring your kids in their Halloween costumes to Marlin Park on Saturday October 25th, 2014 @ 1:00 PM sharp for a spooky good time in the park.

Trick Or Treat

We’ll have treats for the little ones, so bring a goodie bag/bucket!

** Event Ends at 2:00pm **

And PARENTS, don’t forget your cameras for photo opportunities with the Good Witch.

Our local RWC Police will also be available to provide voluntary FINGERPRINTING for children of parents who might wish to have this record for identification. Because a child’s appearance can change in a short time, fingerprinting can be the best way to identify a lost child.

RSCA holds this event each year for Shores children elementary school age and under.

CAN YOU HELP?

The Redwood Shores Community Association needs some adult help for the Halloween Parade. The number of children in the Shores has increased dramatically in the past few years (really good schools and a great quality of life for families!) We could use a few more adult (young or old) “helpers” to look over the large numbers of children at this event. If you have the time and would help us on Saturday, October 25 from 12:00-2:00pm, email .

It’s easy work and lots of fun to watch our children enjoy their “dress-up” time in Marlin Park. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Sounds of the Shores 2014

There’s only one concert left this summer! Come out Sunday, August 10th and party in the Shores!

Sundays this Summer, Marlin Park is the place to party! Join your friends and neighbors for the Redwood Shores summer concert series.

Hosted by RSCA, the Sounds of the Shores summer concert series takes place once a month throughout the summer on Sunday afternoons, 5-7pm, in Marlin Park, starting June 22rd. We’ve programmed this year’s shows in the late afternoon to make use of the warm setting sun for a perfect weekend capper with music, food, and friendly folks in the park.

The final summer concert will be on August 10th and features blues-based American soul — come feel the groove of Highwater Blues! Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, your friends, and your dancing shoes!

Again this year, we’ll also have food & drink available for purchase if you would like to get dinner or snacks during the show.

Mark the dates for complete RSCA’s 2014 summer concerts…

JUNE 22: THE SHANKS (Classic Rock)
JULY 13: COCKTAIL MONKEYS  (Pop / Disco / R&B)
AUGUST 10: HIGHWATER BLUES (Blues-Based American Soul)

Eggstravaganza 2014!

It’s time for the RSCA’s annual Eggstravaganza, held every year at Marlin Park in the center of Redwood Shores. Bring all your children and a basket for goodies to the park for the big Egg Hunt, where toddlers and young kids can seek out goodies hidden in the grass and playground. Also, the Easter Bunny will be there to lead off the Egg Hunt and later to pose for pictures with the boys and girls, so be sure to take along a camera as well!

The festivities begin at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 19th at Marlin Park here in Redwood Shores.

Be sure to arrive early so that your child can line up in the right age category — the eggs disappear quickly, and the whistle begins exactly at 1:00, so be on time!

We’ll have treats for the kids, so please bring a small basket. (Please limit your children to 6 eggs each so that everyone can share.) Look for the GOLDEN EGGS for a special prize!

Our local RWC Police will also be available to provide voluntary FINGERPRINTING for children of parents who might wish to have this record for identification. Because a child’s appearance can change in a short time, fingerprinting can be the best way to identify a lost child. And parents, don’t forget your camera for photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

OUR SUMMER CONCERTS HAS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON — THANKS FOR COMING OUT!

Sundays this Summer, Marlin Park is the place to rock! Join us for the Redwood Shores summer concert series.

RSCA has moved the Sounds of the Shores summer concert series this year to Sunday afternoons, 5-7pm, in Marlin Park, starting June 23rd. We expect more people to be able to join us on Sundays, and the earlier time should help avoid the early evening chill that can cool things off as the sun goes down.

Mark the dates for RSCA’s summer concerts…

JUNE 23: THE HOUSEROCKERS (rock & soul)
JULY 21: HIGHWATER BLUES  (rhythm & blues)
AUGUST 18: RODEO HOUSE (country rock)
